Frequently Asked Questions About iRobot Roomba
What is iRobot Roomba?
Roomba is a series of autonomous robotic vacuum cleaners sold by iRobot. Introduced in September 2002, Roomba features a set of sensors that enable it to navigate the floor area of a home and clean it. For instance, Roomba's sensors can detect the presence of obstacles, detect dirty spots on the floor, and sense steep drops to keep it from falling down stairs. Roomba uses two independently operating side wheels, that allow 360° turns in place. A rotating, 3-pronged spinner brush can sweep debris from square corners to the cleaning head.
The Roomba units have a range of model sizes with the 400 to 900 series, which provide several different features, such as tangle-free brushes, separate sweep canister, a more powerful vacuum, obstacle avoidance, or performance maps displayed via a smartphone app. However, some parts of the Roomba models are interchangeable between related models, allowing a mix/match of features, or switching into other units for longer battery operation. The 900 series Roombas also feature a camera, which works in conjunction with onboard mapping, indoor positioning system and navigation software, to systematically cover all floor area, move from room to room and find recharging bases and beacons. - via https://en.wikipedia.org/

How long do roombas last?
iRobot promises that the battery can run for up to 2 hours, and based on our estimates, will last about 400 charges. That's all fine and good, but depending on how the robot's battery is taken care of, you could find yourself replacing it sooner than you'd like. - via https://www.cnet.com
Is the Roomba 690 worth it?
The Roomba 690 is the midrange model in the Roomba line. While the 980 is my favorite robot vacuum, its price puts it out of range for most people. The 690 offers much of the same time-tested iRobot technology, but at a much lower price. - via https://www.wired.com
Is Roomba 960 worth it?
Conclusions. While it certainly isn't cheap, compared with the $1,000 Dyson 360 Eye and the $900 Roomba 980, the Roomba 960 is a good deal. For $700, you get a lot of advanced features, like a camera for better navigation, Wi-Fi, voice assistant compatibility, and iRobot's Clean Map visualizations. - via https://www.pcmag.com
Does Roomba Learn your house?
Robots are not only taking over your home, but now they can learn the entire layout of it, too. iRobot's new Roomba 980 is the company's smartest cleaning companion yet, with its own mobile app and enough brains to map out floor plans of your home while it goes to work. - via https://arstechnica.com
Is EUFY better than Roomba?
The Eufy has a HEPA filter; the Roomba uses the AeroVac filter that is not HEPA rated. The Roomba is taller and over two pounds heavier than the Eufy. The Roomba has the faster battery charging time, but shorter run time compared to the RoboVac 11+. The Roomba 675 has control via a mobile app; the Eufy does not. - via https://smartrobotichome.com
